Itinerary
Your epic trip starts at 7 AM with a pickup from your hotel in Bali. Enjoy a 4-hour drive to Gilimanuk Ferry Harbor (less if from Pemuteran or Lovina). Meet our friendly guide and take a 1-1.5 hour ferry to Java. Once at Ketapang Port, continue by car for 5-6 hours, passing beautiful views and small villages. The long journey is worth it as you finally reach your hotel near Mount Bromo, where you can rest and get ready for the next adventure.
Wake up at 3:30 AM for a jeep ride to King Kong Hill. After a 40-minute drive, enjoy coffee while waiting for the 5:30 AM sunrise. Watch the sky light up over Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru. Then, cross the Sea of Sand and hike 45 minutes to Bromo’s crater rim (or ride a horse in 10 minutes). See the steaming crater before heading back for breakfast. Later, travel to Lumajang for an overnight stay near Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.
On day three, we start early to catch the best views of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. If you stay nearby, we begin at 7 or 8 AM since the waterfall is only five minutes away. From Lumajang, we leave at 5 AM and have a local breakfast before a two-hour drive. First, enjoy the stunning view from the top. Then, hike down to experience the waterfall up close. The trek takes 3 to 4 hours. After the adventure, we drive six hours to Banyuwangi, where you can rest before your next journey.
On the last day, we start at midnight to see the rare blue fire at Ijen Crater. The journey begins with a one-hour drive to the trekking start point. From there, it takes about two hours to reach the blue fire. The first part of the hike is smooth, but the final descent is rocky and slippery. The effort is worth it as you witness this magical natural wonder glowing in the dark before heading back to continue your journey.
